Sometimes we can become so consumed by what we desire and find it so overwhelming to the point that we forget how blessed we presently are. Things that should bring us joy are usually ignored as we focus on what we want and still did not have .this desire for what we don't have are worthless idols just like Jonah 2 vs 8 say "Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs ....."What are worthless idols ?They are all those things that we think will make us happy if we have them .Example ;If I am married, I will be Happy. H mmmm......does that sound familiar,? All the things that we believe are the answer to a contented life .Have you ever seen an outfit or a piece of jewelry that you just had to have? You saved your money religiously for it and finally the day came when the thrill of making that item yours becomes a reality .You enjoyed it, showed it off to your friends, Wore it proudly .Then one day you saw something else and you put your treasure in the closet or your jewelry box and become caught up in the pursuit of the new acquisition. Why?, Why cant we ever be satisfied ,Why do we always think that when we get this one thing we are longing for we will be contented .And then you finally get it and you discover that it does not really make you as happy as you thought it would .
My dearest single Christian women if you are not contented or happy with who you are and where you are now, there is no magic portion that will make you automatically happy when you do get married.
I believe God wants us to learn that ever thing in life is temporary except his awesome love for us ,it is the one thing that will never lose its luster..
What is the grace that slips through our fingers as we pursue what we think we want ? Present joy, present fulfillment .Blessings overlooked because we are too focused on the one thing we don't have . We walk right pass friendships rich with promise, career opportunities , places not travelled to, new experiences never tried, so many times we put off till tomorrow what should be done today . Todays treasures are buried under our longing for what we think tomorrow will bring.
Here is the bottom line . Today is today . It comes complete with its own set of joys and dramas . Leave tomorrow alone it will come soon enough choose to embrace what is possible and live in the moment and enjoy it while collecting wonderful memories. CELEBRATE EACH DAYS BLESSINGS.
